Love this place! Nice interior with amazing food and drinks. For cocktails, I loved the empress drink (vodka with grapefruit and lychee). For food, my favorite dishes were the soup dumplings and then the three cup eggplant. I also enjoyed the whole braised fish in brown sauce that came with homemade pancakes, the Beijing Zha Jiang Mien, and pork belly with quail eggs (but the quail eggs were a bit tough). There was so much more on the menu we wanted to try. Can't wait to come back again - highly recommend!

I was walking down restaurant row with a specific restaurant in mind. Already had my order in my head. As I was about to cross the street to get to it I saw a picture on a sign of soup dumplings and immediately entered. Chai was a super cute small restaurant with great food. We ordered the Xiaolongbao with crab meat (sad it was only 4 instead of 6), pan fried dumplings, and the house braised noodles. Everyone was so friendly and the food was delicious. Maybe a little overpriced but in that part of the city I guess it's to be expected. We were in a rush to catch a show but I'd definitely come back when I have more time to try it again!

My friend recommended this place when I was dying for Chinese cuisine. The design of the restaurant looks pretty local. The cocktail menu certainly looks interesting, but I was completely distracted by the plum juice, which is not on the sweet side and I love!! We had the pork intestine (卤煮) and the fish in sour stew (酸菜鱼), one more of a Beijing cuisine and the other more like a Sichuan dish. We like both, more like a fancy version of what we had at home :-) We went on a Monday 6pm and only with party of 2, restaurant not too busy. Overall ambience is great. Good for small party.

Excellent food and service!! We came here for Mother's Day dinner and got seated right away. The manager Sean recommended the best food and drink. The hospitality was top tier. Would definitely come back again!
